The academy

A new academy has exactly one thing to offer at the start: clarity about how it will work.

The method

The ball, not the queue

A child learns football by touching the ball. Everything we do starts from how many touches they get in an hour.

Small groups, decided in advance

Seven children per coach in the youngest groups, ten at performance level. We do not grow a group because more families signed up. We close entry and open a new group.

A ball at every child's feet

Drills are built for pairs and threes, not for lines of waiting children. An eight-year-old should touch the ball several hundred times in a sixty minute session.

A game every week

Small-sided matches at every session, not only at weekends. Children learn decisions inside the game, not inside an explanation.

A written assessment twice a year

Every child gets an assessment on paper in January and June: what improved, what we are working on next, what they can practise at home.

From a first session to a first contract

Three stages, each with written criteria. A child moves up when they are ready, not when they have a birthday.

  1. A ball on a yellow cone in a sports hall

    Foundation

    4 to 8

    Coordination, balance, first touch

No score is kept here. The child learns to run with the ball at their feet, to stop, to change direction. Two sessions a week, an hour each.

  2. A player running with the ball on grass

    Development

    8 to 14

Technique under pressure, reading the game

Positions, pressing and playing a role are introduced. Three sessions a week plus regular county league competition.

  3. A shot at goal in long exposure

    Performance

    14 to 18

    Physical, tactical, mental

Four sessions a week, separate strength work and video analysis. Recommendations to Liga 2 and Liga 1 clubs start here.

What we do not promise

We do not promise your son or daughter will become a professional. Of a thousand children who start football at six, a handful will make a living from it. We promise they will be better than last year, that they will be safe, and that they will want to come back next Thursday.

The coaches

Who stands next to your child

Every coach holds a current licence and a current criminal record check. You can ask to see both at any time.
