BFA Wolves · Opening 1 November

Football academy in Timisoara and Arad

We train the player, not just the team. Youth football for ages 4 to 18, at two bases in Banat.

What Banat Football Academy is

Banat Football Academy is a youth football academy with bases in Timisoara and Arad, Romania. We train boys and girls aged 4 to 18 in groups of no more than seven children per coach. Monthly fees run from 260 to 520 lei depending on the programme and the base. The first trial session is free. The first training session is on 1 November 2026.

We publish the fees because a parent is entitled to know the cost before picking up the phone.

What we start with

An academy that has not opened has no record, and we are not inventing one. The numbers below are commitments we can keep from day one.

7:1

Children per coach

The Romanian average sits between 15 and 25.

2

Training bases

Timisoara and Arad, both floodlit.

14

Age groups

U6 through U18, boys and girls.

100%

Time on the ball

No queues at drills. Every child touches the ball.

The pack

What it takes to be a Wolf

Every part of the wolf on our crest is something we ask of every player. Scroll, and we take it apart.

Train at Banat Football Academy. Earn your place in the Wolves.

  1. 01The ears

    Listen

Good players hear the coach, the teammate and the game. Listening is trained, just like passing.

  2. 02The eyes

    Read the game

Look up before the ball arrives. See the space, then play.

  3. 03The nose

    Instinct

Sense the moment: when to press, when to wait, when to run in behind. Instinct is built from thousands of repetitions.

  4. 04The jaw

    Hunger

Want the ball back. Every duel, every recovery run, every session you turn up for even when it rains.

  5. 05The coat

    The pack

Nobody plays alone. We look out for each other, on the pitch and off it.

For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack.

A Tuesday in Timișoara

Ninety minutes, frame by frame

What a Development session looks like, from the coach arriving to the last game. A written plan, nine children to a coach, a ball each.

  • A coach carrying the ball bag across a foggy pitch
17:40The coach arrives first and sets up the pitch.
  • Yellow training cones on grass
17:55Cones go down to the day's written plan.
  • A football boot resting on the ball
18:00Warm-up with the ball. Every child has one.
  • A yellow training disc on grass
    18:15Changes of direction, then speed.
  • Football boots on grass in low light
    18:35First touch, under pressure.
  • Socks and boots on the grass during a break
18:55Water break. The coach explains the next drill.
  • Three balls on the grass in front of goal
19:05Finishing. Dozens of shots each, not three.
  • A goal on a floodlit pitch
19:20Free play. The last ten minutes are theirs.

The method

The ball, not the queue

A child learns football by touching the ball. Everything we do starts from how many touches they get in an hour.

Small groups, decided in advance

Seven children per coach in the youngest groups, ten at performance level. We do not grow a group because more families signed up. We close entry and open a new group.

A ball at every child's feet

Drills are built for pairs and threes, not for lines of waiting children. An eight-year-old should touch the ball several hundred times in a sixty minute session.

A game every week

Small-sided matches at every session, not only at weekends. Children learn decisions inside the game, not inside an explanation.

A written assessment twice a year

Every child gets an assessment on paper in January and June: what improved, what we are working on next, what they can practise at home.

From a first session to a first contract

Three stages, each with written criteria. A child moves up when they are ready, not when they have a birthday.

  1. A ball on a yellow cone in a sports hall

    Foundation

    4 to 8

    Coordination, balance, first touch

No score is kept here. The child learns to run with the ball at their feet, to stop, to change direction. Two sessions a week, an hour each.

  2. A player running with the ball on grass

    Development

    8 to 14

Technique under pressure, reading the game

Positions, pressing and playing a role are introduced. Three sessions a week plus regular county league competition.

  3. A shot at goal in long exposure

    Performance

    14 to 18

    Physical, tactical, mental

Four sessions a week, separate strength work and video analysis. Recommendations to Liga 2 and Liga 1 clubs start here.

What we do not promise

We do not promise your son or daughter will become a professional. Of a thousand children who start football at six, a handful will make a living from it. We promise they will be better than last year, that they will be safe, and that they will want to come back next Thursday.

Stadium floodlights through falling snow at night

We train when it snows

The season starts in November, so we built for November. Floodlights at both bases, and an indoor hall in Timișoara for the evenings too cold for the pitch.

  • Floodlights at both bases
  • Indoor hall in Timișoara
  • First session: 1 November

Two bases, forty minutes apart

Choose whichever base suits you. Coaches move between them and the method is identical.

The coaches

Who stands next to your child

Every coach holds a current licence and a current criminal record check. You can ask to see both at any time.

What parents ask us

The questions that actually arrive on WhatsApp, answered directly.

What is the minimum age?

Four years old. The U6 group takes children between 4 and 6, and the session lasts an hour.

How much does it cost a month?

Between 260 and 520 lei a month depending on the programme and the base. Foundation in Arad is 260 lei, Performance in Timisoara is 520. Training kit is included.

Is the first session genuinely free?

Yes. You come to a normal session, your child takes part and you watch from the side. You pay nothing and we do not call you unless you write to us.

My child has never played football. Is that a problem?

No. Close to half the children who join the youngest groups have never played organised football. Coaches know this and build the session around it.

What should they bring to the first session?

Football boots or flat-soled trainers, shin pads and water. The training shirt and shorts come from us once they enrol.

Do you have groups for girls?

Yes. Girls train in mixed groups up to U12 and in a separate group from U14. At opening we start with a mixed group in Timisoara.

How many children are in a group?

A maximum of 14 at Foundation, 18 at Development and 20 at Performance, with one or two coaches. The ratio is 7 children per coach in the youngest groups.

What happens if it rains?

In Timisoara we move indoors. In Arad the session runs on the synthetic pitch unless there is a storm. We only cancel for dangerous weather and we tell you on WhatsApp at least two hours ahead.

Can I stay and watch?

Yes, from the side. We only ask that you do not shout instructions during the game: the child looks at you instead of looking at the ball.

Can we stop the monthly payment?

Yes, with 30 days notice. There are no year-long contracts and no cancellation penalties.

What if we live between the two cities?

Pick whichever base suits you and switch whenever you like. Some families from Lipova or Sannicolau come to the base nearer their work rather than their home.

Do you send children to professional clubs?

Recommendations go out from the Performance group to Liga 2 and Liga 1 clubs. It matters to say that most children will not get there, and the academy is not built only for the ones who do.
